Default SubForms - editing

I have a Cheque Input Form in 3 parts:
- Main Header
- Single allocation
- Mutlple allocation
The Main Header carries all the static data - date, chq No.,ChqAmt etc
The Single allocation is the first allocation to a Ledger account - Ldgr
A/c, LdgrAmt
The Multiple allocation is in datasheet form for multiple allocations to
ledgers - Ldgr A/c, Ldgr Amt

Both the Single and Multiple subforms are Childs of the Main Header.

How do I go back to edit errors in any of the forms? I want all the forms to
be editable before closing, but as I move from one form to another, records
are created that disappear and are then locked in.

Appreciate any advice
