I purchased Office Standard 2007 for my desktop a few weeks ago. I recently
purchased a mini laptop that has a free trial of Student 2007. I would like
to install Standard on my mini but there is no optical drive on it. How can
I install Office Standard on the mini to activate with my existing Standard
key?

You can't download it, so you'll need to get an image of the installation
media available to the mini somehow. How about an externally-attached USB
optical drive?

As well as your question, how do you plan on recovering win if your mini
throws a fit?

Copy the installation DVD to a USB drive, or buy a USB optical drive, they
are cheap.
