Default Detect and Repair

Office has been crashing when I attempt to use acrobat distiller. I figured
I should use detect and repair to check for problems, but when I use the
feature it asks for a file (ZF612707.CAB) that is supposed to be on the
Office 2003 Professional Edition CD, but is not. I do not want to have to
reinstall office unless it comes right down to it.

Anyone have any suggestions??

Hi A,

That cab file is one that contains the basic font installation set
such as Arial, Times New Roman, for Office 2003.

I'm afraid I'm having the same problem. Trying to reinstall office and I cant
because the install wants the zf612707.cab file. Its not on the cd, and I
cant find it anywhere online!

Where can I download the file? Or is there a workaround? I really dont want
to uninstall office because I dont want to lose all my outlook data...

Thanks

Is the CD you are using an "official" Microsoft CD or a copy?

Normally I don't steer people back to Microsoft but this seems to be a
recurring issue and I can't find any resolution to it. I assumed you are in
the US. Please forgive me if I'm wrong - I only have US-based links saved.

Hi JoAnn,

What a bummer! I've been to the link you sent also. I contacted Sony, they
sent me back to MS as well... I guess I have to pay the $35 for phone
support...

I have found many people have the exact same error - and there isnt anywhere
on the web that shows a solution! Surprising...

Thanks for trying - I am in the US btw.

Tony

One stupid question though:

So far, I've gotten this error when using detect and repair as well as
reinstall.

If I use uninstall, getting rid of office all together, and then install
cleanly from the CD, will I lose my outlook data (emails, contacts,
calender)??

I'll try it if I wont lose everything... Might make a difference. Right now
I'm crashing outlook every hour or so and its getting boring...
