Even after uninstalling 2003, I could not get the Office
XP Professional to cooperate when I opened up its version
of Outlook. I received a 'Runtime Error! abnormal
program termination' message.

Why can't I use my prior Office XP Professional?! I am
loathe to spend an upgrade price for the new Office 2003
Standard for $239 from Microsoft, especially since I
haven't had the Office XP Prof that long AND I just had
to buy a new laptop!!! Argh!

Does anyone know how I can get this to work---I've
already spent way too many hours on this. Maybe it IS
worth a trip to Costco at least and spend $210 (+tax) on
the upgrade. ugh

Thanks to anyone who can offer advice.
Joni

There is no such Save As command for an entire .pst file. The
solution is to create a new .pst file in the Outlook 97-2002 legacy
format and then export the Outlook 2003 data to it.

There is one major problem - if the pst file was created in the new
(2003) format, the only way to use it in a previous version of
Outlook is to open it in Outlook 2003 and then "save as" a previous
version of the pst. As the
OP says he can't run Outlook, he's got a potential problem.

Sorry, not having Outlook 2003 myself, I wasn't aware of the precise method!

That's OK, Gordon.....

I was able to "Save As" in the method Sue referenced when
I found it in Outlook Help, BUT, another problem is
snagging me.

I am SO frustrated and hope there is an answer out there!!

Bye!
