Default Auto Numbering cards per sheet.

How do you auto number buisness cards for printing. I am using them as
tickets for an event and i want them to auto number each card per shee to
400. I have tried that stupid help function to only have it not work. I
numbered an Excel sheet to 400 and tried the (per MS Help) mail merge and it
does not auto number each card on each the sheet. It just shows the first
number (1) on every card. Someone please help me with a simple way i have
been all over the internet for two days and i cannot find anything that works
in the 2007 version of Publisher. I did get it to work in 2003 about five
months ago but our office upgraded to 2007 and now i cannot get to work.

Thank you in advance.

I doubt 2007 will do it! Not he best version--2003 still used by techs. Try
compatibility software from MS for 03-07. May have to work out of 03 the save
in 07. Just suggestion.

Thank you Mary or Mrs. Sauer it worked perfectly. I do not remember having
to do that with 2003 and I wish MS would update the help function to show
that change. Again thank you for the timely response and it really helped
out. My work center was really happy they didn’t have to number every ticket
by hand. Hope fully MS will add that as a normal function in Publisher 2017.
:) Thank you again.

Publisher 2007 has printing issues that I personally find difficult in some
instances. Many of these are being addressed in the next service pack.
Thanks for posting back, Albert. It is appreciated.

This helps so much. Thanks for the trick of selecting Multiple Pages per
Sheet. Now , taking it further:
My sheets come out with 10 consecutive numbers perpage, which means that one
must manually sort them after cutting apart.
Has anyone taken this to the next step and figured out how to number them so
the cut stacks are consecutively numbered?
The only way I can figure it is to make your template an entire page of
tickets and have a separate column in the mail merge for each place on the
page.
Is there a better way?
I'd hate to have to reinvent a wheel.

Default Auto Numbering cards per sheet.

Greetings! I'm having an issue with this as well. I have a 4-page Publisher
booklet with the merge file field appearing on the back cover. When I do a
Print Preview of the booklet, the numbers (1-275) show up fine. When I
print, the output comes out 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, etc. They appeared fine in the
preview...any idea why they reset when coming out of the printer?

Thanks
