Default Crop a Picture to Something Other than a Rectangle?

Is Visio limited to having inserted pictures exist in rectangular format
only? Can I create a circular viewport or otherwise take a circle or
freeform portion of picture out of an inserted picture?

When Visio inserts a picture we call up a picture editing dialog menu. There
are various options to manipulate the picture however there is no option to
change the outline shape for the picture. So it appears we are stuck with the
rectangular shape when pictures are inserted into a drawing page.
