send mail VP app
Hi,
I have had a look in the KB, but can't find a resolution. win2k Pro, Office 2003 (work, excel, outlook) exchange 2003 backend. The customer has an old app, that when active sits "Always on top" this app has a send mail function, since I have upgraded office (more specifically outlook 2003) when you hit the send mail button from the app it fails. After investigating, it shows that outlook is chucking up a warning window with the following message: A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf. Do you want to allow this? If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose "No" The problem is, because their app is sitting as always on top, they can't see this message, and then it times out default as no. Is there a way in outlook (or the reg) to turn this warning off, or to have default as yes? I can't get the app re-written, and the users not clever enough to "ALT+TAB" to get to the warning screen before it times out. Thank you in advance. Karl. |

send mail VP app
You won't find a resolution in the KB because there is no Microsoft-sanctioned solution for this situation. You might consider using the Express ClickYes program discussed at http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup.htm#auto. Note, however, that using this program will leave your users wide open to any viruses that harvests address information or sends messages through Outlook. I don't recommend it for that reason.
The best solution would be to replace this old application with a newer one more suited to today's virus- and spam-filled world. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming: Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "admin" wrote: Hi, I have had a look in the KB, but can't find a resolution. win2k Pro, Office 2003 (work, excel, outlook) exchange 2003 backend.
