I want to sum column C if Column A is greater than or equal to 1/1/06 & less
than 2/1/06. Any sugguestions?

Put those dates in D1 and D2

=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A1000=DATE(6,1,1))*(A1:A1000DATE (6,1,2)),C1:C1000)

its more complicated than that
Col A list of dates an employee was absent Col C, E & G (diff types of time off) hours of time off they used I want a formula to sum for "January" all hours used of time off. And now we are supposed to know what the time off codes are?
