how do I unlock my word document

I can't type on my word documents, and i dont know why, at the bottom of the
screen it says, this modification is not allowed because the document is
locked, how do I get it unlocked?

If you have a trial version of Word and the trial period has expired, you
need to acquire a paid version. If you have a paid version but haven't
activated Word, you need to activate it. Help Activate Product.
