how do I download a contact list from a disk into my outlook?
I had my contact list from my work computer downloaded onto a disk and now am
trying to download them onto my home computer. They are in a "pst" folder on the disk and possibly from 2003 Outlook. My home computer is 2007 Outlook. I don't know if this will cause an issue but wanted to include that info as well. Sure hope someone can help me with this. Thanks! |

As documented here extraordinarily frequently - copy the pst file to your HDD, preferably into your Documents folder. Ensure the Read-Only attribute is not set. Open Outlook. Do File-Open-Outlook Data File and navigate to where you put it. Copy the contacts from the new pst file to your existing one.... |

how do I download a contact list from a disk into my outlook?
Well my question may be an old one as well, but here goes any way. I had my
pc updated from xp to windows 7. But my Outlook Contacts nor any other folder were populated with the info from XP Outlook. I have tried looking around but can find nothing. A CLEAN install wipes your HDD. Therefore if you (or whoever did the upgrade) didn't backup your data then unless you have other backups I'm afraid you have lost it all. |

While updating Windows XP to 7 will necessitate a full install, the user's personal files should get moved to a folder called C:\windows.old if the installation is placed in the same partition as Windows XP. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
