The message will occur when you have the option set to save autorecovery
information and for whatever reason it cannot save the recovery file at the time interval requested. You can turn off the saving of autorecovery information, but it would be better to investigate why it cannot save. I find that this sometimes occurs when programming in the vba editor. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org "basils57" wrote in message ... Thanks for that Graham, but unfortunately you lost me at the mention of editors - I don't know anything about this. Any other suggestions please, as I don't want to turn off Autorecovery?

If mention of the vba editor lost you (and that was only mentioned as an
example) then the potential fixes are going to worry you also, however..... See http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm then http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...artingWord.htm or http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921541 with particular attention to the normal template. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org "basils57" wrote in message ... If you're seeing a message that Autorecovery is postponed for the Normal
template (and you haven't modified it) then the likely cause is something is modifying your Normal template. That 'something' is probably a third-party add-in since if you're not modifying your Normal template something else is. If no modifications are being made then there's nothing to save. Autorecovery is triggered only for files that have been modified. In order to help troubleshoot your issue we need to know the version of Word you are using. Note the steps for troubleshooting add-ins provided in the "Problems starting Word" link Graham provided may be able to help point you in the right direction. If you need more help, post back and we'll go from there. ~Beth Melton Microsoft Office MVP "basils57" wrote in message ... For some reason I've started to get this message appear regularly.
