Default Cannot fax a tif file attachment with Outlook 2003 using SBS 2003 Fax Services

Within Outlook 2003 I am trying to sending an email to a fax contact
with a TIF file as an attachment.
I get the following response

The Microsoft Fax transport failed to deliver the message to the
recipient.
The message body cannot be printed

If I do the same with a TXT file attachment it works fine.

I understand that this will only work if there is a printto verb for
the TIF file association, the one I am using is ...

rundll32.exe C:\Windows\system32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_PrintTo /pt "%1"
"%2" "%3" "%4"

Configuration :
Server - Windows SBS 2003
Client - Outlook 2003 on XP SP2

Any ideas gratefully received

Just an additional note

If I send a TIF file to the Fax printer it launches the Fax wizard and
this works OK, so can I assume my printto verb is working OK and there
is something amiss within Outlook ?

Also looking at other posts on this subject, my MSPaper.Document
printto verb is set to the rundll32.exe ...... as in my original post

Thanks for the link Russ, but I've tried your suggestion of making sure
the printto verb is present in the MSPaper.Document registry setting
But still no joy faxing TIF attachments.

Looking at the registry, my settings for the printto verb are

MSPaper.Document/shell/printto/command and the (Default) value is set
to the rundll32.exe ........ command

However when I look at the print and open verbs, they both have an
additional multi string value named command, in the case of the print
verb this is set to

Q9oWVn-}f(ZXfeAR6.jiMSOfficeDocumentImagingsY1UIp^8o?=6k GH_0WrJ /p
"%1"

Should the printto verb have anything similar?

In addition, is there anyway to get a more detailed error message?

What I posted has always worked as far as I know. The most obvious
difference in your situation is that you are using SBS Shared Fax service,
so some of these settings may need to be made at the server level, not the
client. I've never had the occasion to use SBS.
I doubt you'll find any other information on this. No work is being done in
this area. Fax integration with Outlook is dead. It's probably time you
start looking for alternatives.
