3-D charting questions
I want to make a 3-D chart with three separate and
distinct (different colors too) layers. Is that possible, if so, please help. Also I am looking for a way to make all the charts the same size and in the same location, so that if one would flip through the tabs on the bottom, it would be somewhat animated. I know how to make all the fonts the same and in the same location, just not the actual chart. Please advise. Please email me help. Thanks, Nate |

3-D charting questions
Nate -
To make yourself three distinct bands, double click on the Legend (!), select the Scale tab, and set the scale parameters which produce the bands you want. I assume the bands are dictated by Z values. To make a bunch of charts all the same, set up one with the scales and everything else the way you want it. Make a sufficient number of copies of this chart, then only change the source data range of each, while leaving everything else the same. You could also do this using VBA if you want to try to keep track of 1001 separate parameters. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP http://www.geocities.com/jonpeltier/Excel/index.html _______ Nate wrote: I want to make a 3-D chart with three separate and distinct (different colors too) layers. 3-D charting questions
Jon
Thanks for the input, but that doesn't do what I want it to do. Let me try again to explain what I want. Think of an elevation view of a floor plan on a three story house. I want a 3-D chart that I can have 3 separate and distinct levels, that could simulate floor 1 of a house and so on. The floor plan has specific X-Y coordinates and three Z values at the same X-Y coordinate. I want Excel to treat those three distinct z-values as three separate levels. Ultimately, I want to be able to change the color on one of levels to show the viewer of my charts that this data I collected came from level 1 or level 2 or level 3. I hope that makes it clearer. Thanks. 3-D charting questions
Sorry, that's not possible. Excel's 3D charting capabilities are very
limited. John Walkenbach For Excel tips, macros, & downloads... http://j-walk.com/ss "Nate" wrote in message ... Jon Thanks for the input, but that doesn't do what I want it to do.
