On the General tab of Tools | Options, you can select the unit of

a text box would be an "HTML feature." Perhaps you're seeing picas or points
instead of pixels?

Yes, I had the checked the pixels-for-HTML box, and unchecking solved
that little problem.

No, I did not see picas or points, I saw pixels ("px"). It comes out
as 96 pixels per inch.

On a side issue, do you know if there is a function name cross
reference between local language versions of Word and the original? I
sometimes have a hard time to guess what Swedish word they invented
for some of the more exotic functions, or functions to which there are
a lot of synonyms in English or Swedish. It is not enough to be
fluent in both languages (not that I am, but enough to see the
problem).

I am not aware of any equivalency tables for Word commands, but then I have
no command of anything but English anyway. There don't, unfortunately,
appear to be any specifically Swedish or Scandinavian Word or Office NGs,
unfortunately. OTOH, that increases the changes that Swedish users will be
posting here, so perhaps someone else will be more knowledgeable.

If you had the Multi-Language Pack or Multilingual User Interface Pack or
whatever it's called for your specific version, I suppose you could switch
between UI languages and find out that way.
