A red "X" appears in in the compose text box, not allowing me to write the
message when replying, forwarding or composing a new email using Outlook Web
Access for Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. I am using Windows Vista Ultimate
and Internet Explorer 7. Any ideas how may I fix it?

Outlook Web Access has a known issue with Vista:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/911829
You receive an error message when you try to perform any editing tasks, or
you must click to enable the compose frame in Outlook Web Access

The above article has links to an update that must be applied to the
Exchange Server, you might want to refer this article to your Exchange
Server administrator.
