Default Hyperlink field in a form

Hi

We have a field on a form that we use for hyerlinks (we link to word files),
we can do this in 97 but we lose the option in access 2000. I have no idea
why it would make any difference?

Is this something that anyone else has experienced before?. I'm convinced
that it must be something really simple to resolve but just cant put my
finger on it at the minute.

Many thanks

Hi Carol,

Assuming you are using Access 2000 try this:

1. Open your form in Design View
2. Select the field you want the hyperlink, right click and select properties
3. Scroll down until you see "Is hyperlink" in the properties table.
4. Change the no to yes and save
5. Then simply highlight the field go to your menu at the top and select
"Insert" and the hyperlink field should be highlighted.

Hope this helps!!

Default Hyperlink field in a form

Hi Doug

Unfortunately, and not an ideal situation is that some of the users are on
97 and some are on 2000. The company wont pay to upgrade until they need new
pc's, so, until that point we are having to make do.

The database was created on 97 and has not been converted yet, therefore, i
am unable to save any changes to the database when using a machine that uses
2000.

Is there anyway in version 97 that i could change anything so that the
access 2000 users can see that the field is a hyperlink.

Many thanks for your help.

I'm sorry, but I have never worked with 97 so I don't know anything about it.
Other than what I offered, I'm afraid I can't be much help. Try searching the
internet (if you haven't already done so) to see if there are some site that
reference your situation.

Good Luck!!
