Default Unmatch query

Could somebody please tell me what an unmatch query is in English. The help menu in access isn't exactly crystal clear on what the query is and what it does.
Thank you

Default Unmatch query

Starting with 2 tables A and B where table B has data that relates to table
A (such as a one-to-many relationship with table A where B is the many
side), the Unmatched query will tell you if there are any records in table A
that don't have "sub records" in table B.
