still need help, repeat row as heading not working
My orginal problem:
I have a very long table that flows to about 6 pages and would like the first 5 rows to repeat on the following pages. I have used the table menu "heading rows repeat" and selected the "repeat as header row at the top of the page" within the table properties. It just won't work, I have veiwed in page layout and printed and it will not show up. (Arggggg!) Are there any other deep dark secrets in getting this to work? I have searched the MVP Word website and can't find any additional help that would suggest another problem. I even tried it on a smaller table and it won't work on that either, not even one row will repeat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really do not want to do a cut and paste job, especially since this is a document that will be changed frequently. Thanks Suzanne |

Heading Rows Repeat. -- Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the benefit of others who may be interested. Make sure that the other rows are not set as heading rows.

It still did not work, if I have merged cells would this
make a difference? Although, I am not sure this is it since I tried creating a smaller table with no merged cells and it still did not work. -----Original Message----- Make sure that the other rows are not set as heading rows. -- Suzanne S. Yes, I know I always switch to print layout view. I
finally got it to work on a new document but not on my orignal that I am needing to change. I think I will just need to recreate the table and then copy/paste the text in. Thanks for your help - I have tried everyones suggestion and more. I will just start from new. -----Original Message----- Note that you will see the repeated rows only in Print Layout view or Print Preview (not in Normal or Web Layout view) -- Suzanne S. still need help, repeat row as heading not working
I had the same problem, probably something is screwed up in the table, but I had no interest in rebuilding it so I kept on trying with tthe following results: 1. select the first couple of rows starting from the first deselect the option "repeat as header row at the top of each page" 2. select only the first row and then select "repeat as header row at the top of each page" that did it for me if still not working try selecting in step 1 more rows, I think that without seeing the wrong row is selected to be repeated at the top, prob. what will work in once is selecting the whole table starting from the top in step 1 -- wilcov ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted via http://www.mcse.ms ------------------------------------------------------------------------ View this thread: http://www.mcse.ms/message623178.html |

It won't repeat if you manually break the page..when the rows
automatically jump to the next page it will repeat. --- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |

In that case, the table that appears after the manual page break is a
separate table. -- Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the benefit of others who may be interested.
