Duplicate Numbers - Count only once
This has to be very very simple but I'm not experienced enough to know what
the expression, calculation or what I need to do to get this calculation to work. My field is grouped and the count keeps giving me the total. I want the duplicate numbers to be suppressed. I have tried just about every duplicate answer and I guess to my limited knowledge in Access, I keep getting error messages, elimination of the field or zeros. This is the question: I have several requisition numbers with the same req #, I only want one req # appear as the count instead of the total req #s, i.e., Over the Group: The field has 3 as the total count and I need 1 (one) to be listed in that field. I have also placed in the properties…hide duplicates. I have tried to use another query, I used find duplicates and it eliminated the numbers in the original table, I tried iif statements, diff statements, dcount, ….there has to be something to make this work. Req # 00-093 00-093 00-093 On another group: The field has 3 as the total and I need 2 (two) in that field. Req # 00-022 00-023 00-022 Please let me know what I’m doing wrong. Thanks. |

Req # 00-022 00-023 00-022 Hard to tell from your descriptin, but I think you should try assing another group on the Req# field. Then you can count the number of distinct Req#s by using a running sum text box (named txtRunCount) in the Req# group header or footer section. Set the text box expression to =1 and RunningSum property to Over Group. With that in place your current group footer text box can display the total by using the expression =txtRunCount -- Marsh MVP [MS Access] |
