Default difficulty scrolling in documents

When I try to scroll more than one page while editing documents, the
window will not move beyond the insertion point until I press the
[Home] key, even if the insertion point is already at the left limit
of the line. How do I turn off this "feature" so that I can scroll
without the extra key strokes?

Sorry: I'm using MS Word 2003 SP3 in MS Windows XP SP2.
