Default Little inline "L" character

I have an old database converted to MS Word. At the end of each record, there is a small but capital letter "L" (pic would not upload). I would like to search and replace with something else so staff can better see that this is the end of a new record/client. When I copy the character and try to paste it into the find/replace dialog, it shows up as a space.
