Default Word 97 to Word 2003 Problem?

Hi,
We have a win98 and word 97 installed on it and created many Docs over 100
Pages in that. now we have installed winXP and Word 2003 on another
computer. when we open Docs created with word 97 in word 2003 the formatting
(like tabs, paragraph, indents and ...)especially bulleted and numbered list
change and is not the same as we did in word 97.
anybody knows how to solve this?
Thank you
