Default Loss of Hyperlinks in Excel 2007

I am using Excel 2007 and have a file that has hundreds of Hyperlinks. I
recently opened it and all my Hyperlinks which were directed to my network
G:\ drive have been diverted to my local D:\ drive. Not all my links are in
the same folder on the G:\ drive. My Hyperlinks are inserted by right-click
the cell and choose Hyperlink then browse to where the file is located.

My quesion really is once I restore back to an old back-up tape is there any
way I can prevent this loss of Hyperlink occurring in the future?
