cant open eml file attachments

This seemed to start after in went to ie7 and also downlaoded windows live
desk top. I deleted live desk top and went back to ie6 but I am still having
the problem

I already tried this and it didnt work. It also states it of OLE 5.5 and I
have 6

5.5 and 6 are the same in this matter. MS doesn't always keep up well with
updating their own articles. Try this then.

Save the attachment to your HDD. Right click on it and Open With. Find and
choose a program that works, (Outlook Express in this case), and then check
the box: Always use this program to open this kind of file.

What happens when you try to open an EML file?

Do you get an error message?

Or does OE itself just open or come to the forefront? If the latter,
that indicates that the /eml:%1 part of the command line is missing.

If you still have problems, The FileExtInfo utility will gather all the
file association information from the Windows registry for a specified
file extension and save it to a file named FileExtInfo.txt on the
desktop. From that information we might be able to track down the
problem.

Run it for EML files, then either attach the file here or e-mail to me.
