Default saving ppt file with animation- excel graph animated by series

I have an ppt file that has excel graph copied in the slide. I have created
an animation using the custom animation by series. This enables me to animate
each series of plotted data in the graph. The problem is that I only need 3
of the 6 series to be animated. I remove the other three series from the
animation pane and I preview the results and everything is perfect. The three
series of data that I need animated are in fact animated. When I save the
file, it reverts back to animating all six series of plotted data. Is there a
different way of saving a file with animation that I am not aware of? Would
appreciate any help. Using Powerpoint 2007.

I'm afraid I can't repro that. Which animation are you using? Are you
animating the chart background too? What file type are you saving as? Is it
a 2007 graph or an MS Graph? The more details the better :-)

These are the steps that I take.

I copy a line graph created in Excel 2007, and paste it as a Microsoft
Office Object onto a slide in an existing pptx presentation. From the ribbon,
I then select animations - custom animation - animate by series. This
animates all 8 series of plotted lines including the background, making 9
total series that are animated. I want to animate only 3 out of the 9. From
the custom animation pane, I remove the series that I do not wish to animate
leaving only the three I want to animate. I then run the slide show and the
background of the graph along with the 5 un-animated series of data show up.
At the click of the mouse, the three series of data (in this case graphed
lines) animate individually into the slide. This is the desired result. When
I save the file, I save it as a pptx file, it saves it with all of the 9
series being animated. That is the problem. I want to save the pptx
presentation with only 3 series of data in the excel graph being animated.

Hi

I followed your steps and still can't reproduce the problem - that is my
graph retains the animation on only the selected series after a save. That
is good and bad news - good as it means PowerPoint can do want you want but
bad as I can't really help :-(

Check you have all the updates installed and run Office Diagnostics to see
if that helps.
