Default comparing versions

I have two, slightly different versions of a document written in word
2000.
In order to find the differences I wil put them both on my screen and
compare line by line.
But is there perhaps a possibility to compare the versions
automatically?
Please advise. Thanks

Default comparing versions

Open one document and then from the Tools menu, select the Compare and merge
documents item.
