Bitmap pictures are not displayed in a form (package instead)

I am inserting pictures for each record in a table, and I have created a form
that should display the picture when browsing those records. First it was
working fine only with bitmap pictures type, but now, no matter what file
type I choose, (jpeg, tiff or bmp....) the picture is shown as an icon in the
form and as a package in the table design view.
I have rently installed a Ipod software and it looks like it has changed the
way my media files are managed. I am not sure if that is the issue.
Can any one help please. I am in the middle of this project and it just
useless if the pictures are not displayd properly.
