Default Animating an object

I would like an object to appear and flash continuously at a .5 second rate
on a slide using the mouse click function and then dissapear on the next
mouse click. What I have been able to do is have the object appear, then I
must click a second time to get the object to blink. Is there any way to have
the object appear and start blinking right away? Any help would be
appreciated. I am using PowerPoint 2003

You simply have to change the timing of the blink animation to "With
Previous" instead of "On Mouse Click." Look for the animation listed int eh
task pane. Click on it. Click on the little arrow next on the right side of
the animation; this is a pull-down menu. Choose "Start With Previous" from
the menu.
