Under"line spacing" which we arrived at by
clicking "format" and then "paragraph", somehow the
default seems to be at l2 pt. "after", and it should be at
0", for I want the "enter" to allow for single spacing,
and as it is now, it's always at double spacing. How do I
change the default to 0"? Thanks. Richard .

Richard, you will need to edit the style which has this spacing. Depends on what version of Word you're using how you access editing a style. If you're using XP (2002), you open the Style & Formatting Task Pane, click somewhere in a paragraph of the type you want to change. You will see the name of the style at the top of the S&FTP. When you mouse over the name of the style, it will give you a drop down arrow and you can choose modify. Make your changes and be sure to click "add to template."
