Default DDE Connection

Hi
I am doing a merge with excel and need to use the DDE
connection in order to maintain my zip code formatting.
When I try to select my source, I get an error, "Could not
re-establish DDE Connection." Does anyone know how to fix
this???

Thanks!!!

You can set the format of your zips with switches - see

Mmmm. The news isn't very good for this version. A search of
the Knowledge Base on "re-establish DDE connection" will
turn up hits for most versions of Word. The one that might
help you most

http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=813989

You might also try

http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=171596

But if your configuration is having a basic problem with DDE
connections, you may have no choice than to format the merge
fields manually, as Graham suggests.
