Default A message rule question

I sometimes get e-mails with hugmongous attachments. More and more
people seem to assume everyone has a high speed connection.

I want to set up a message rule to delete from the server before
downloading.

I understand the first check box "where size is more than size"
and the second check box "delete from server"

The question arrives in the rule description which says "Apply this
rule after the message arrives" and can't be changed The question is
"arrives" Does this mean arrive at the server or arrive on my pc?
I hope it means server or there is no point for the rule

Ignore it: You can't remove it and it won't come into play anyway.

NB: You will want to end the Rule with "And stop processing more rules" and
you will want to place the rule appropriately in your hierarchy of Rules.

Default A message rule question

Apply this rule after the message arrives refers to On The Server. While
some rules require the message to be downloaded before it is applied, such
as a message body rule, a size rule can be deleted from the server.

Create a Message Rule:

Where the message size is more than size
Delete it from Server
Click on Size and set it for the size you want

You can also set the action to Do not download from server. This will give
you the opportunity to log on to your ISP's Webmail site and view it there.
But, you will have to check the Webmail site once in a while as you will
never be notified that the large message has arrived there. And depending on
your mail server's limitations, leaving messages on the server may at some
point clog it up, so you will want to visit it on a regular basis, say once
a week perhaps.

In general:

Have all rules that divert mail to folders first.

Delete it from server next.

All others last.

Make sure that every rule also has Stop processing more rules checked,
unless that option is grayed out.
