Default Outlook 2002 sorting problem

Hello,

I've been using Office 2000 with multi-language pack for
many years without problem. (The other language is
Hebrew). While installing software for my new iPAQ I was
informed that I have to installed the bundled Outlook 2002.

Having done so, my contacts are now displayed in a
disarray. Any attempt to sort them fails - I've tried to
create new views, I've tried to change the sort order or
re-define the "File As" field - but they never get sorted
properly.

I've even tried to create a new table-based view of the
contacts, with fields for "first name" and "last name" -
and yet, sorting fails on any of the text fields (ie - non
numeric and email)

I've installed the recent Office service pack.

Any ideas?
