Inkjet refill kits
I have a Canon i860 that seems to drink ink. I like the job it does, but
the ink costs are digging into my wallet. I've read posts about refilling the containers, some good and some bad. Does anyone have any long-term experiences to relate? Does using a refill system cause problems with the print head down the road? Do you have a system you recommend? Are they messy? Merry Christmas Mike |

I know of some that do it.. they complain of blacks that aren't, and dullish
colors.. also some inks don't dry fast enough before the next page runs off.. Buy an HP.. they are more economical than others and you get a new print head each time you replace a cartridge.. HP rule in printers (but Canon scanners kick HP scanner ass).. "Mike Koewler" wrote in message ... I have a Canon i860 that seems to drink ink. Mike,
Color fidelity isn't important; all my files are professionally printed. This is more for spec ads, making invitations for my daughter, printing 1500 mailing labels a week. I'm happy with the printer, just not the cost of replacing ink cartridges. :-( Mike Mike Hall wrote: I know of some that do it.. they complain of blacks that aren't, and dullish colors.. also some inks don't dry fast enough before the next page runs off.. Have you considered selling off some of your customer base?.. Here is a site for you to visit.. take a look at the accessories link.. it would appear that refilling ink cartridges is a hobby in its own right.. http://www.printerfillingstation.com/index.htm Good luck with whatever you decide.. Mike,
Ron Cohen sent some good instructions and tips about refilling Canons to me some time ago. He suggested http://www.alotofthings.com as his favorite supplier. If you want a copy of his detailed instructions, please post an address, and I'll send them along. DavidF "Mike Koewler" wrote in message ... I have a Canon i860 that seems to drink ink. Sarah,
It's David that dislikes HP printers. I had two of them, a an HP 5LS Mx with postscript and an HP4 - both could print 11x17 sheets. But once I could send the printer pdf files instead of camera ready pages, I didn't need the large printer. When I was looking for a color printer, the Canons were highly rated (except for David) and the price was good. Thank you in advance for your help and comments, Lee |

Been there- tried that. YUCK!! Messy and the quality really sucked.
Everything turned to shades of grey. And that was in the first printer we owned - a Canon. Never again will we (1) buy refill kits or (2) buy a Canon.
