Can I make shortcut on desktop so Outlook opens to Contacts page? I need to
know if this is even possible and, if it is, how to do it. I have Outlook
2007 and Windows XP. Thanks in advance to whomever may be able to help.

You can set via Tools/Options/Advanced Options with which folder to start.

Thank you for answering. So let me be clear . . . You are saying this is
the only way I can do that - I CANNOT make another, separate folder/shortcut
on desktop to open DIRECTLY to Contacts? Your additional answer would be
greatly appreciated.

Use this syntax to select the folder with which Outlook opens (be sure to
use the quotes as shown). The Contacts folder is used in this example.
"drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe" /select
outlook:contacts

The path may vary with your OS and Office version.
