Default How do I recover my folders after an upgrade? Inbox remains.

I recently upgraded my Windows XP with Microsoft Office XP. I now find that
the only folder I have use of is my inbox. My contacts folder, which was
active has disappeared as has my calendar folder. I'd like to know how to
retrieve them as they contained important information which is now lost. How
do I re-install them? And why/where have they gone? The message I get when
I click onto the icon in the Outlook shortcuts window is "Unable to display
the folder. MS Outlook could not access the specified folder option. The
folder no longer exists". Can anyone help at all? Many thanks.

Expalin what you actually did. Your post makes no sense. Office XP is not an
upgrade to Windows XP.

Oh. On the disc I have it says Microsoft Office XP. I thought it was an
upgrade. I just inserted it into the disc drawer and off it went.
Afterwards I discovered that my shortcuts had disappeared. Any ideas how I
can retrive them?

Could you please explain clearly what you did?
Are you saying you just installed the Microsoft Office Suite? If so, why did
you say that your "folders disapeared?" How could there have been any
"folders" in the first place if Office wasn't installed before?

I see you two are not communicating. Lynda, did you install Office XP to
upgrade an existing Office program and when you did, Outlook Inbox is all you
were able to access? That's what I hear you asking. I'm not sure how to fix
it, but that's what I understand your question to be. I hope the
clarification helps.

That's right. I'm not very au fait with the inner workings of pc things so I
thought putting a disc in was the answer. It's obviously not in this case as
it's caused me more problems than I would like. Anyhow, thanks for your
response. I'll just tweak until the problem is solved.
