error when installing Office 2000
"Dale Dines" wrote in message ... Error 1933. The windows installer service cannot update one or more protected windows files" This has something to do with W2K sp4. One of the patches locks, I suspect, a .dll that the Office installer uses to copy installation files to a temp folder. Just which patch this is I don't know, and no one from MS has been forthcoming with a solution to this dilemma. Perhaps if more people relate this problem something will happen. BTW downloading and installing the latest installer version from MS has no effect. |

error when installing Office 2000
Try the following it worked for the problem that I had with SP4 installed on Win 2k and error 1933 installing Office 2000 Pro or Standard
1. Download the SP4 full install from Microsofts site and using winRAR or Winzip extract the file to a location on your Hard Drive and burn it off to the root of a CD. 2. Re-install SP4 from the following location X:\update\update.exe (x: represents cdrom drive) 3. install office 2000 and you should be good ----- Dale Dines wrote: ----- Error 1933.
