You left out a lot of other information.
The message is correct. Do what it says. More detailed instructions are available in the KB if that's what you need. If you need us to search the KB for you, here's what I found: http://support.microsoft.com/default...roduct=out2003 -- Russ Valentine "Rena25" wrote in message ... when installing microsoft office 2007 it gives me an error message of the mail profile "outlook"was created with a newer version of outlook and might contain information that is not compatiable with your current outlook version. if you experience problems with this profile you can create a new profile. in windows control panel open mail then click show profiles and then click add. Outlook help
Rena25 may have left out information, but you left out a solution and gave a
lame response instead. Installing Outlook 2010 (6-month trial BETA) essentially corrupts the OL 2007 profile without warning that it is doing so, and one cannot easily revert to the previous profile without encounterign the error message Rena25 speaks of. Pointing someone to a Microsoft KB article that says the obvious and saying "The message is correct. Do what it says," is an impractical and uninformed response. What if someone has 10 email accounts in their profile? They have to recreate all the accounts and point the folders to which incoming messages are to be delivered? Why? They didn't have to do this to upgrade to OL 2010. Why doesn't OL 2010 BACK UP THE 2007 PROFILE before creating a new one, making it impossible to open Outlook 2007 (if one reverts to it) without an error message which default on Cancel? Your reply was not at all helpful. "Russ Valentine" wrote: You left out a lot of other information. The message is correct. Do what it says. My reply was spot on. You never install any version of Outlook over another
without creating a new Outlook profile. Outlook has never supported in place upgrades. Wake up. -- Russ Valentine "Crowntown" wrote in message ...
