Default Default settings

Using Word 2003, is there some way to set (reset) the default settings? I
went to ToolsOptionsEditSettings and it had a "Customize" selection, but
when I chose that and clicked on OK, it reverted back to the "Word 2002 -
2003" setting.
Thanx

If you want to go back to *all* the factory defaults, you can rename
Normal.dot and delete the Word Data key in the Registry; see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...ocNotBlank.htm and
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm

Default Default settings

On the File menu, click Page Setup, and then click the Margins tab.

Under Margins, select the options you want.

To change the click Default after you select new margin settings. The new
default settings are saved in the template on which the document is based.
Each new document based on that template automatically uses the new margin
settings.
On the Format menu, click Font.
Select the options you want to apply to the font. If you selected text in
step 1, the properties you want will appear in the dialog box.
Click Default.
