Default Change Axis in Excel 2007

Hello,
I am trying to change the format of the Axis in my chart to a number format
but for some reason it will not work. The data that my chart is based on is
in Number format, the Axis is percentage format. I've tried everything I can
think of and nothing seems to work.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

In EXCEL 2007 check the following for the axis with which you are having a
problem:-

1. Click on the axis with which you are having a problem (I have clicked on
the Y axis which is formatted as Number in my underlying data).

2. Chart Tools / Format / Current Selection group / Vertical (Value) Axis -
you might need to change this setting to whichever axis it is you are having
a problem with) / Format Selection / Format Axis window should now launch /
Number / make sure that Number is selected and not Percentage.

If my comments have helped please hit Yes.

Thanks.

Default Change Axis in Excel 2007

Hi,

The instructions doesn't apply to my chart because it is tied to a pivot
table. I don't see the menu for the Chart Tools. Is there a work around to
change the number format in a chart that is tied a pivot table?

Default Change Axis in Excel 2007

Hi Lizz.

I have just checked to see if the instructions that I have already give
apply to Pivot Charts as well and they do. A Pivot Chart does not seem to
work any differently from a, "normal" chart (I believe they must, therefore,
use the same underlying software).

So what I have said still applies to the situation in which you find
yourself.

The menu for (the now) PivotChart Tools is found towards the top right hand
part of your screen.

PivotChart Tools will appear in the Title Bar (top right hand side) and
beneath this (on the right hand side) you will find the Design Layout Format
and Analyze options.

Hope you can find it now.

If my comments have helped please hit Yes.

Thanks.

PivotChart, choose PivotChart Tools | Layout | Axes | Primary Horiz/Vert
Axis | More Primary Horiz/Vert Axis Options, and in the Format Axis dialog
box choose Number ...

Default Change Axis in Excel 2007

Hi - I am trying to format x-axis in a pivot chart from m/d/y to mmm-yy. I
set the format to mmm-yy but it still appears as m/d/y. Even when I open the
format window for the primary horizontal axis, the mmm-yy format is selected
but the x-axis still displays m/d/yy. Any ideas of what to check next?
thank you!
