Access won't start due to lack of free memory
I have re-loaded Office 97 after system crash. Everything except Access
works. When I try to start Access I get the following message; "A system error has occurred or there isn't enough free memory to start Access". I am using Windows XP Home Edition and I have 1 gig of RAM. Any suggestions please? |

Access won't start due to lack of free memory
After the crash was the hard drive replaced or wiped clean? If not, there may
be some old parts of Office and Access hanging around even if you did an uninstall. I don't remember with Office 97; however, Microsoft has some removal tools available for newer versions of Office that helps clean out all the remnents of Offices before doing a reinstall. Even then I had a case where we had to wipe the hard drive and reload Windows 2000 and Office 2000 to get Access to run properly. -- Jerry Whittle Light. Strong. Cheap. Pick two.
