Default Choose rcd using cursor position

I have a form with multiple transactions displayed. The user enters an
expense category for each of the transactions. At times, a transaction needs
to be split out to multiple expense categories. To do that have a text box
where the user enters the record ID, hits enter, another form displays to
enter multiple expense disbursements. The important thing here is, the
multiple records have the same ID as the parent record.

I'd like something more elegant than entering to a text box. Is there a way
to move to the next form by clicking on the record in the initial form?

Thanks in advance.
