Default Table of Contents

In the Table of Contents of a document when you hit PF9 to update the page
#’s, the whole table of content is shifted to the left. How do you change
the Table of Contents to not do that?

Manual formatting applied to the TOC field is undone when you
update the field, and you can't change it to not do that.
Encourage the user to stop applying manual formatting to the TOC
field.
