"not responding"
When I try to open or save as, computer locks. I tried editing registry, not.
Link to Easy Fix: Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm ; and scroll doesn't work. Used task master to end verclsid.exe, go one folder deeper, repeat until desired file in opened. Ouch that is time comsuming. I have finally removed patch, KB908531. so have a security hole, but I can use my office applications. That is only thing that worked and I do not have any more time. ernie |

Mary,
I got my computer working again after removing the security patch and went to bed about 12:30 am this morning. When I booted my computer this morning, the security got replaced through automatic updates. OK let's try some more. Both of your links seem to end the same place I was working last night. Since there was 60 items I couldn't wait for, I was able to do a work around at cost in time and emotions. I am off to investigate Open Office.
