Default How do I covert a word docment to excel?

I have streaming data on a word document that I want to convert to excel. In
excel I can see the data lined up in different columns and correct easier.
When I try to "save as" it does not give me the .xls option.

What do I do?

Convert it to a comma delimited text file and open that in Excel -
essentially the same method as shown at

Try converting your text to a table in Word.

C/p may do but the result can be disappointing based on yr formatting. Show the non-printable characters (CTRL+*) if needed. The pilcrows ("pi like symbol) mark the end of a row when copied to Excel. Tabs mark end of a column. You can use Ctrl+H to find/replace characters to make sure the data transfer to Excel smoothly. Post back if you need more help.
