Listen to them and stop questioning their advice in a Word newsgroup.

You could try doing all the things you are supposed to do without your
parents have to tell you even once (let alone over and over again). You
could also try not doing all the things you're not supposed to do. Result.
Happy parents and a happy Chris. Win Win.

Regards.

Bill

Default a WORD parents

G'Day Chris,

One day, YOU will have kids. At that time YOU will expect to be the Boss -
and rightly so.

Sit down quietly and think ...
How will YOU deal with a kid like YOU?
How will you make it clear that things are not that simple?
That things are not that easy?
That good results (in all things incl. relationships) require good WORK?
How will you explain that his/her attitude has a HUGE impact on how
others deal with him/her? That if a kid (wrongly) anticipates aggression
(or whatever), then s/he will approach life with an 'attitude' that
inspires
others to respond aggressively (or whatever)? That in this way we
CREATE the very thing that we anticipate or dread?
How would you explain that s/he cannot have all the Cool things s/he
wants? That the Cool things are never enough - there is always
something way Cooler?

All I can say Chris is this ...
Try to be a Good Kid so that one day you can be a Good Parent ...

All the very best!!

That depends on your age Chris.
0-2 nothing quite says it like sick on their best clothes
2-8 stick your fingers in your ears and sing 'la la la I'm not listening'
9-12 roll your eyes. a lot.
13-18 slam doors, paint your room black, winge about it on myspace
19-22 move out
23-27 grow a pair
+27 revert to 2-8

and always remember that they are only doing it because they love you

Remember, respect your parents:-

1 Your turn will come sooner than you think!

2 Your inheritance may depend on it!

3 What goes around comes around!
