Unable to open Outlook Express Word attachment
I recently updated from Office 2000 to Office 2003 Pro. When I attempt to view a Word or Excel attached file directly in an Outlook Express 6.0 message, Word or Excel opens, but then I get an error message that the file cannot be found. If I save it to my hard disk, I can then read the file. I have disabled the Norton AV 2003 Office plug-in and still have the problem. Can someone help with a configuration fix perhaps?

Unable to open Outlook Express Word attachment
Outlook Express is not a part of Office and has its own news groups for
support. Try posting to an Outlook Express group = they can be found under the web interface under Windows-Internet Explorer. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without reading. After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, DougL asked: | I recently updated from Office 2000 to Office 2003 Pro. Unable to open Outlook Express Word attachment
Milly, Since my problem is an interaction between Outlook Express, Word and Excel, I have posted my question in multiple groups including both IE and Office. So far, no one has been able to help. I am getting the same suggestion as yours on the Outlook Express board. They seem to feel it is an Office problem. I am caught in the middle!
