Default clear formatting option?

Is there a way to “clear formatting” from Power Point content. (I’m thinking
like a clear formatting choice that MS Word has.)

We have recently started working in PP2007 across our company, moving away
from PP97. We are having some inconsistent results when applying the newest
corporate PP template. I am suspicious that there is “sticky residue” from
PP97 that is clinging to the content and causing grief.

If anyone has a good technique for dealing with this, it would be appreciated.

thank you

Reapplying the slide layout is usually the way to "start over" in PPT.

There's a "clear formatting" button for text on the Home tab in PPT now,
though.

97 to 2007 ... there's a brainchurning jump for you. g

There's no clear formatting command in PPT unfortunately, but you can try re-applying
the slide layout (several times if necessary). That can force PPT to override any
local on-slide formatting with the formatting from the master.

You might also want to experiment with our free ShapeStyles add-in demo.
http://www.pptools.com/shapestyles/

Create a new slide with the text formatting you want (from the slide master of your
new template) then pick up the text's style with ShapeStyles and save it as a style.

Then apply the style to text boxes on your older slides that don't seem to be
inheriting the correct style from the master.

You can create up to five styles with the free demo. That should be plenty to get
you up and running; use it in good health, no obligations.

L.I.B. Them R.

And you can apply it to just selected text or to the whole text box.

Sweet.

thanks Steve..I'll have to give this shape styles a whirl. Resetting the
slides many, many times has no impact. And, yes..PP97 to PP2007 has been a
brainchurn indeed. I am glad to know the clear formatting button is there,
but it appears to only clear local formatting as you point out. I was hoping
for something that literally takes the content to plain text (no bullets +
revert to whatever "normal" font PP2007 is (Calibri I think).

Maybe your shape styles will be just the fix we need.
