Restore contacts from PST file

I recently bought a new laptop computer and am trying to set up my
preferences as on my desktop. I installed Outlook, configured my email, and
restored my original .pst file to the laptop by copying it from the desktop.
Now I need to set my "original" email data account as the default file, and
remove the data file Outlook created when I installed it on the laptop.
Any suggestions? Thank you!

How did you "restore" this file? Normally all you would do is open this file
in Outlook, set it as the default delivery location, restart Outlook, then
close the new empty file Outlook created. I'm sure you can figure out how to
do that. We can't tell you because you failed to specify your version.

Are you saying you cannot figure out how to do this? That version is long
out of support and I have no 2002 running. I'm sure you can figure this out.
If my memory serves it will be something like this:
- Go to Tools Options Mail Setup Data Files Add...
- Add the PST you'd like as your new default, then Close OK to exit the
Options dialog
- Go to Tools E-mail Accounts View or change existing e-mail accounts
- Select the PST you just added in the "Deliver New e-mail to the following
location" dropdown (it will most likely appear just below the current
default Personal Folders file) Finish
- Exit and Restart Outlook
- You can now close the previous default PST (R-click on that pst folder
while in Folder View and select "Close foldername Folders"). If you have
any information in your former PST that you'd like to transfer to your new
default PST, you can drag and drop from one to the other before you close
the old one.
