Default Excel 2007 Gridlines Disappeared

The gridlines disappeared. I have confirmed background has "no color" and
all "show gridlines" are checked. I am out of options and think I may have
to uninstall the entire program and start over. Does anyone have any other
ideas?

Hi Adel,

1. Try choosing View, Show/Hide group, and check Gridlines.

2. There is another far less likely possibility - the gridline color has
been set to White under Office Button, Excel Options, Advanced, Gridline
Color.

just to recheck you have gone in options, selected gridlines and colour
automatic. Do you use macros and/or vba?

When something like this happens to me and I can't pinpoint the cause, I'll
find a nearby cell with similar formatting and paste its format to the
offending cells to restore the gridlines. Hope this is helpful.

Default gridline option "automatic" on my Excel 2007 results in faint
grid lines. I changed the option described by Shane to "black" and the
grid lines are more noticeable now.

Yes. Every time I open a new book, I have no gridlines, although I have it checked as black under excel options, advanced, ...ect. Also checked under view, and still no gridlines. Simply frustrating!

Thanks alot for your help

Default Excel 2007 Gridlines Disappeared

In my experience some of the aspects of Office 2007 seem to disappear on some
monitors. The cause is the contrast and brightness settings of the monitor.

I have seen this on several machines. The gridlines may disappear in Excel,
or the watermarks may disappear in Word. When the user adjusts the
brightness and contrast of their machine, these aspects reappear.

This appears to be a new issue unique to Office 2007. I believe it is due
to the lightness of some items in the display. Office 2007 seems to have a
much lighter quality to several of the screen elements.
