Default selection is grayed out on a shared doc

Please Help!

I created a document, selected ProtectionProtect Sheet, then made it a
shared document. My problem is now the “Unprotect Sheet” selection is
grayed out and I need to make some changes. I am also unable to
unshare the sheet. I would appreciate any info on the issue.

Thanks in advance,
Adam

Go to Tools - Share Workbook and uncheck the "Allow changes..." checkbox.
That should re-enable Unprotect.

Thanks for the reply, but I tried that and it didn't work. The doc
still remained in shared mode and I was unable to unprotect the doc.

Odd. It worked for me in XL2000. I get a message about my change history
being erased. I click yes and the workbook is back to exclusive use. Do
you get a message when you try to "unshare" it? What version are you using?
